Westerhope

A modern suburb

Westerhope's growth came largely in the 20th century, as Newcastle's suburbs pushed outward to house a growing population; before that it was sparsely settled farmland on the city's north-western fringe. It remains predominantly residential today, close to open countryside and the Newcastle Great Park development.
